Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans Predictions
The Broncos and Titans meet for the second time in 2023 following a Brisbane win in round 7. Brisbane still lead the competition on 11 wins whilst the Titans sit just outside the top 8 on 6 wins.
This Queensland rivalry is a typical big brother/little brother scenario and I am tipping the big brother to take the win streak to five in a row. The Origin guns will have gotten almost four days of rest which should ensure they back up in this early Sunday afternoon game.
- The Broncos have covered the line in 4 of their last 5 wins against Gold Coast.
- Gold Coast have won only 11 from 33 games played at Suncorp Stadium.
- Brisbane are second in the league in opposition points allowed giving up only 17.5 points per game.
- Herbie Farnworth has scored in Brisbane’s last 3 home games against the Titans.
Head to Head
Brisbane and Gold Coast have played nine matches against each other since 2019 with the Broncos winning five games and the last four straight.
These teams met in round 7 earlier this year at CBUS Stadium with Brisbane emerging victorious 43-26.
Brisbane Broncos Form
Brisbane enjoyed their first bye of the season in round 16, a much-needed rest to recover and recuperate before two big Queensland derbys.
Before the bye, the Broncos had won three in a row against the Warriors, Sharks and Knights. All three games ended within a margin of eight points with the Knights game being decided in the dying minutes by an Adam Reynolds try.
Brisbane have had a harder time through the second third of the season getting their troops moving forward but that is to be expected considering the massive workload and relatively intense playing schedule.
The Broncos have played 10 of 15 games in Queensland so far this year.

The Titans enjoyed a week off in round 16 but have this week parted ways with Coach Justin Holbrook with veteran Des Hasler stepping in as the interim.
Since their first bye in round 13 Gold Coast lost to a rampaging South Sydney 46-28 then posted 28 points again the following week to send the Tigers packing who only managed to cross for 12 points.
AJ Brimson’s return from injury last game was a much-needed lift for the Titans who have struggled with injuries to playmakers over the past two months. Expect Brimson to continue to turn up the heat against the Broncos this week.
