Discounted locals passes are on sale from today for the Byron Writers Festival.
The discounted ticket, supported by First National Byron, is for entry to the festival on Sunday 13 August and is priced at $90, a saving of $45 on the full ticket price. The offer is exclusively available to residents of the Byron, Ballina, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Tweed Council areas.

Sunday Locals’ Passes will be available for purchase from 9am Thursday 22 June. Tickets can be purchased online at byronwritersfestival.com/festival, over the phone or in person at Byron Writers Festival’s office. This is a limited release offer and will be available until sold out, so get in quick! Purchasers will need to present proof of address at entry to the festival and are limited to a maximum of two tickets per person.
Byron Writers Festival has made its first announcement of authors including 2021 Australian of the Year Grace Tame; beloved broadcaster and author Richard Fidler; celebrated writer, commentator and actor Nakkiah Lui; and international bestselling author Pip Williams. They are joined by international guest Kevin Jared Hosein (Trinidad) author of the breakthrough historical novel Hungry Ghosts and acclaimed Northern Rivers based author Marele Day. This first announcement of celebrated guests gives a taste of things to come with the full program of more than 120 writers, thinkers and commentators to be revealed on 28 June.
