It was Wrexham who played host to the Upper Youth Development League event and North Wales topped the charts after gaining 666 points.
Wrexham athletes Lucy Jones, Erin Smith, Henry Cunningham and William Ellis certainly played their part in the triumph.
In the under-17 women’s category, Lucy was first across the line in the 200-metres (27.0 seconds) and she was part of the victorious 4x300m relay team (2-59.6).
An effort of 9.92-metres also saw her claim second spot in the triple jump, while a personal best of 5-32.5 saw Erin win the B 1500-metres.
Turning to the under-17 men’s section and William threw 25.87-metres for victory in the discus.
Henry (4.61m) finished fifth in the long jump.
Across the pond, Amber Simpson was one of the competitors at the NCAA East event in Jacksonville, Florida.
An effort of 66.02-metres saw her in third place in the hammer.
There were season’s bests aplenty for a trio of Wrexham athletes competing at the Trafford AC open.
In the senior men’s 400-metres, there were impressive runs from Liam McGivern (49.28) and Oliver Edwards (53.53).
There was also a season’s best from Neil Davies in the M50 100-metres (15.17) and he achieved 67.44 for the 400-metres.
Contending with some ups-and-downs, a Wrexham duo took part in the Mynydd Myfyr hill race at Trefonen.
Charles Ashley crossed the line in 59th thanks to his effort of 39.00, while Alyson Winn was 70th in 67.39.
Buckley Runners’ successful run of late continues with plenty of fine showings at the Mynydd Myfyr event.
Jez Brown, the first V50 male, was third overall and in sixth position was Gerard Coleman, who was third senior male.
Andrew Peers crossed the line ninth, with Fenella Higgins (first v50 female) 36th, Caroline Caffrey (second v45 female) in 50th, Evelyn Aindow (third v50 female) 56th and Sian Meirion was 57th.
This followed a brilliant display in the Borders Road Running League, with the women first overall and the men were runners-up.
Parkruns have also proved to be popular ventures for Wrexham racers.
At Delamere, Brian Forster finished 413th in 51.35, one second and one position ahead of Alison Forster.
Debbie Dodd tackled the Jersey event, where she clocked 49.40 for 295th position.
Closer to home at Wepre and Mike Robbins’ time of 23.46 was enough to finish in ninth spot, while Macey Quick was 105th at Prestatyn in 29.05.
Ten Wrexham AAC vests were on show at the Erddig race, spearheaded by Immy Jones (23rd in 22.39) and followed by Peter Hughes (38th in 23.56), Peter Sussex (58th in 25.37), Rowena Lewis (74th in 27.00) and Simon Williams (85th in 27.35).
Also competing were Karl Moore (109th in 28.37), Charles Ashley (116th in 28.57), Alex Edwards (133rd in 29.53), Lucy Morris (208th in 37.43) and Phil Walker (213th in 39.05).
This Saturday will see Bury hosting the Lower Youth Development League event.
Things will get picturesque with Sunday’s Llyn Brenig trail race, while next Wednesday’s Llanrug 5k road race will be the North Wales championships.
