A young woman was allegedly punched as she tried to crawl away following a road rage incident, according to police.
Police and Pennsylvania transportation authorities are reminding drivers to control their emotions behind the wheel amid an uptick in instances of violent road rage.
The 25-year-old woman was driving on Oravel St at Balwyn North shortly after 6pm on April 26 when she was overtaken by a black hatchback.
Police allege the vehicle, which was travelling at speed, began to repeatedly brake abruptly in front of the woman after she sounded her horn.
A verbal altercation soon broke out between the pair after the woman pulled her Honda Civic hatchback to the side of the road.
The driver of the other vehicle is alleged to have then punched the woman in the head, causing her to fall to the ground.
The attack continued as the man, who is believed to be in his 20s, punched and threatened the woman as she tried to crawl away, according to police.

The frightening incident was seen by nearby witnesses, as well as the victim’s mother, who called emergency services.
The 25-year-old woman was rushed to hospital soon after with facial injuries, including a broken nose.
The man was last seen heading north on Aram St, then onto Wandeen St in the black Volkswagen hatchback.
Police are now calling on the public to help identify the driver, with a computer generated image being released.
The man is described as being of southern European appearance, aged in his early 20s and about 175cm tall.
