A woman is heard wailing in dramatic police bodycam footage of the arrest of a 17-year-old accused of a daylight armed carjacking in Brisbane.
A 17-year-old has been arrested following multiple arrest warrants after he allegedly threatened a Bulimba father with a weapon in broad daylight last Sunday.
Police allege the 17-year-old and another male approached Angelo Justus’ Audi A3 at his home in Bulimba about 2.20pm on Sunday while armed.
The pair allegedly threatened Mr Justus, who complied with their demands to access his vehicle.
Police said the Audi was later located abandoned and undamaged on Elizabeth St, Stones Corner.
Extensive investigations led to detectives from the Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit locating and arresting the 17-year-old boy at Gleneagle in the Scenic Rim on Tuesday.
In the arrest video, the arresting officer can be heard saying, “you are under arrest at the moment, you have got multiple warrants out and you’re wanted for questioning as well for burglary”.
A woman can be heard wailing in the background.
The 17-year-old was arrested in Gleneagle on Wednesday night after allegedly threatening Bulimba father Angelo Justus with a knife and shovel as he reversed out of his home in his Audi A3 in broad daylight.
They charged the 17-year-old with one count each of armed robbery, possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
His police bail was refused and he is due before Brisbane Children’s Court at a later date.
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
Mr Justus told The Courier-Mail that the two males in balaclavas approached his car while the vehicle they arrived in blocked the driveway.
He said three others remained in the vehicle while the pair screamed profanities and demanded the keys.
