A woman was caught on camera handing off her baby to join an unruly brawl at a Woolworths store.
A wild brawl has been captured on video, taking place inside a Woolworths in NSW.
The fight at a Tamworth Woolworths store was captured on video provided to police by worried onlookers after two women began violently throwing punches at one another.
Two men joined the fight soon after and quickly began punching one another while concerned customers yelled at the group to stop as the fight moved through the store.
A woman – one of about 10 people involved in the fight – passes an infant child to another man before joining the fray herself, punching and hitting one of the men.
The woman is captured on the video obtained by 2GB radio station running into one of the aisles pursued by the man, who is stopped by a bystander trying to break-up the fracas.
Bottles of Sprite and other items from the aisle are thrown onto the floor during the scuffle before Woolworths security intervenes and ends the fight.
The group hurl expletives at one another throughout the fight, with one of the two men at the end of the video shouting: “We have a kid, c**t”.
In a statement, NSW police said officers were called to the supermarket on Peel St about 5pm on June 1 following reports of a fight.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District were told a group of people became involved in a verbal argument before a physical altercation ensued.
A Woolworths spokesperson said they were offering support to staff involved.
“We’re aware of an incident that occurred at our Eastpoint Tamworth store late last week and there’s no place for violence like this anywhere in our community,” the spokesperson said.
“We’re offering team members who witnessed it access to counselling services, and we continue to assist police with their inquiries.”
