A Wide Bay Superintendent is one of seven Queensland Police Service members awarded the Australian Police Medal as part of the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours list.
The medal will be presented to seven of Queensland’s most dedicated police officers, at the King’s Birthday 2023 honours list.
A media release form the state government announcing the 2023 recipients said P Australian Police Medal was “marks its wearers as some of the most dedicated and accomplished police officers in the country”.
“Announced twice a year, on Australia Day and the … King’s Birthday, the medal is awarded for distinguished service by a member of an Australian police agency, after being nominated by Commissioners of each policing jurisdiction,” the release said.

Superintendent Vogler has worked in various different roles throughout her service and is now the District Officer for Wide Bay Burnett,
Superintendent Vogler served as a general duties police at the beginning of her career until 1999, when she moved to an investigator role in the State Crime Operations Branch.
Between 2017 and 2022 she served as the Crime and Support Group Inspector, Mt Isa District, and as the Bundaberg Patrol Group Inspector.

During her service, Superintendent Vogler was the lead investigator for multiple high profile and complex matters, including murder investigations.
“She displays a genuine and authentic interest in the professional and personal development of others, has always ensured the welfare of officers within her investigative teams, and has been instrumental in the professional development and career progression of many officers who have directed benefited from it,” the release said.

The other six recipients from the Queensland Police service are: Detective Superintendent Denzil Clark; Senior Sergeant Jamie Horn; Sergeant Toni Phelan; Senior Sergeant Toni Poli; Sergeant David Raymond; and Inspector Darren Somerville.
Police Minister Mark Ryan congratulated the recipients, saying “these awards represent the commitment of our officers to protect and serve the community”.
“These officers personify what it means to be a member of the Queensland Police Service,” Mr Ryan said.
