Deadloch is the newest arrival on Prime Video and its filming locations have quickly caught the eye but where was the series filmed?
Thanks to the ever-growing line-up of films and TV shows on streaming services such as Amazon’s Prime Video, fans are treated to content from around the world like never before.
A prime example of that is Deadloch, the latest Australian export from comedy duo Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan.
As an Australian series, Deadloch features plenty of eye-catching filming locations which has left many wondering where the comedy was filmed.
Deadloch: Release date and plot preview
Deadloch landed on Prime Video on Friday, June 2, 2023.
Set in the fictional Tasmanian town of Deadloch, the once sleepy hamlet is left reeling after a local man is found dead on the beach.
Assigned to the investigation are two female detectives: the fastidious local Senior Sergeant Dulcie Collins and her newly arrived partner, the tough-as-nails Senior Investigator Eddie Redcliffe.
Alongside their overeager junior constable Abby, the trio must put their differences aside if they hope to find the killer before the upcoming Winter Festival – a celebration of arts, food and culture and the highlight of Deadloch’s fairly sparse calendar.
Where was Deadloch filmed?
Filming for Deadloch took place in several locations on the island of Tasmania to the south of mainland Australia.
The city of Hobart in southern Tasmania provided the central location for the shoot which took place between February and June 2022.
Other locations to feature during Deadloch’s filming schedule were the towns of Cygnet, Kingston Dunalley and Richmond, all of which are located fairly close to Hobart, which serves as Tasmania’s capital.
Speaking about the filming process in a press release, Deadloch’s co-creators said: “We are so incredibly thrilled to be bringing our story to life in lutruwita (Tasmania) with this extraordinary team of creatives.”
