With fashionistas excitedly layering on the extra layers in hopes of a good tan, it’s a prime time for savvy shoppers in Houston. Fashion lovers in the know will be the first to see the spring and summer 2023 looks emerge or browse the amazing winter sales.

And of course, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo adds extra sparkle to the city as everyone is on the hunt for the perfect cowgirl-chic gear.

From the ever-popular rodeo pop-ups and Houston-only outposts, we’ve rounded up 12 best places to boost your spending power this March.

Abeja’s Boutique

The fashion-forward store is hosting two trunk shows at its West U outpost. Iconic Italian brand Forte Forte will be in store from 1st to 3rd March – look for plenty of metallics and sparkly fabrics. The Argentinian brand Rocio G will also be on hand from 7 to 11 March with fine leather goods.

Bally

As we reported, Bally has opened a new store in the Galleria. What started with shoes has since become a whole collection of bags, accessories and ready-to-wear pieces for both men and women. Shoppers can check out the latest collection of Bally jewelry and the debut of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection by creative director Rhuigi Villasenor. Their Galleria location is on Level 1 near the Galleria Financial Center.

City boots

Just in time for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, City Boots, the top-shelf Texas-based handmade boots, is opening its first store in Houston. The brand’s posh River Oaks District pop-up will open through May 15. Six new styles, called the Houston Collection, will launch at the pop-up and be exclusive to the Houston store for the first week before becoming available online.

The conservatory

Blue Lagoon Iceland Skincare, the premier Nordic luxury beauty brand created from the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, recently launched in luxury retailer The Conservatory. Freebird kicks off in Houston just in time for rodeo season. The new store on level 1 between Macy’s and Nordstrom is fully stocked with their spring and summer collections. Look for funky designs with distressed leather, exotic leathers and expandable lace panels at the back – making many of their styles include sizing. For those looking for a unique western moment, highlights include peep-toe booties and multi-strap styles.

IW Marks

Celebrate National Jewel Day at IW Marks. Their Bellaire store is full of gems perfect for spring. Be mesmerized by a large selection of engagement rings, colored gemstones and diamond jewellery.

MKT Heights

Jump ahead at the MKT Heights Plant Market. Enjoy an open-air market featuring Houston’s best growers, gardeners, artisans, crafters and more. Head to the Houston Plant Market ‘Heart of Hou’ community tent for a Springtime Scavenger Hunt adventure around the MKT. Sunday 12 March at 12.00 to 18.00.

Montrose Collective

In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, Montrose Collective is celebrating its women-owned businesses with a guided meditation at Studio BE Montrose, followed by a Q&A with women-owned business owners. Tyler Darling will be in attendance doing portraits for self love.

Post Oak Hotel

It’s Rodeo season, y’all! The Post Oak Hotel in Uptown Houston is hosting a Pop-up Rodeo Lounge Experience from 16.00 to 20.00 during the entire Rodeo from 25 February to 18 March. Everyone can get rodeo-ready with the latest western styles from King Ranch and Lucchese pop-up stores. Shoppers can also receive a free boot shine and hat steamer.

Rebecca Lankford Designs

The custom jewelry designer will host a rodeo market at her Yale street store. Shoppers can get rodeo-ready with a custom hat bar and check out boots, jewelry, food and more. Saturday 4 March at 12.00 to 17.00.

Rice Village

Head to Rice Village on March 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. as the mall kicks off rodeo season in style with live music from Cooper Mohrmann, a mechanical bull, vendors, photo opportunities and plenty of shopping favorites including King Ranch Saddle Shop, Tecovas and the Aspen-based luxury pop- open from Kemo Sabe.
