CIVIC CENTRE WORK: The main accessible entrance of the Civic Centre has temporarily closed to facilitate exterior construction that will improve accessibility throughout the front entrance. The project will include the installation of an exterior elevator and replacement of concrete stairs. The closure will last approximately six months, until Dec.31. Visitors can use the west entrance but caution is advised. Way-finding signage is posted, and City staff will be available to assist those on site. Assistance upon entering the building can be provided by contacting City reception at 705-759-2500 or by contacting the City department directly to meet specific needs.

BUSHPLANE CHALLENGE: Walk at the Bushplane Heritage Centre on Tuesdays, from 1 to 4 p.m., free for those aged 55+. No registration is required; visitors can arrive anytime between 1 and 4 and walk around the museum. The centre has a fun challenge for 2023. It wants to see if participants can collectively walk the distance to Pickle Lake, Ont. by the end of the year. That’s 1,211 kilometres.

THURSDAYS AT THE BUSHPLANE: The Heritage Centre will offer one-hour activity sessions from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., each with a different theme in a four-week rotation.
