Goodbye Barchetta, hello Magic Apple
Following the announcement that Kailis Hospitality Group (The Shorehouse, Island Market Trigg among others) had won the tender for the sought-after Barchetta site on Marine Parade, George Kailis has revealed his plans for the beachfront Cottesloe location – and he’ll be bringing back long-lost wholefood brand Magic Apple. Originating in the ’70s, the cafés were known for their mantra of “mindful nourishment” – and its latest iteration will follow in the OG’s footsteps, championing nutritious whole foods.
FOUND. LAB brings veteran craft brewers and big eats to Byford

It’s only been a year since Testun enthusiastically swung open their doors, complete with the bombastic greeting “ciao stronzi!” – and local creative Melle Branson has teamed up with the neo-Italo osteria for a short film that’s one part Fear and Loathing and one part Big Night. Beaufort Street scores a brand new late-night American BBQ joint
Combining American BBQ, Greek eats and French crepes, Ribs Lane can be found across the road from the Astor Theatre. Featuring a menu of wagyu beef burgers, wicked wings, fall-off-the-bone meats and maniacal milkshakes, they’ll be opening ’til 4am on weekends!

We’re simple folk – we hear the word sandwich and our ears perk right up. Hitting the heart of Scarborough at the end of May, Two Slices Sandwich Bar managed to pique our interest immediately – our intrigue amplified by the sight of fluffy, freshly-baked focaccia. Read more about Two Slices here.
Taste your way through South America at Cott’s Indigo Oscar
The weather may be cool but we’re dreaming of Latin holidays in the sunshine – luckily, Indigo Oscar’s Aventuras Latinas has a menu to warm our bellies and our hearts. Running until August, June saw the flavours of Mexico take centre stage, but upcoming menus include Argentina (starting June 21), Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
