Tomorrow (Friday) the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar will be hosting a ‘Writing History’ workshop with Terry Reilly.
Curated to accommodate both novice and seasoned writers alike, Reilly offers 30 years’ worth of writing and editing experience on how to write about local history or historical fiction.
Proudly hailing from Ballina, Terry Reilly is former editor of the Western People as well as an award winning author.
Most recently Reilly acted as an historical guide to US President Joe Biden during his historic visit to Ballina.
An acclaimed author, Reilly’s most renowned work is Dear Old Ballina, an historical record of the town which covers the last 5,000 years of Ballina’s local history, and includes a foreword by Ireland’s first female president and fellow Ballina native Mary Robinson. Reilly also penned On A Wing and A Prayer, written with such vitality that it was adapted for theatre in 2010.
