Three inspiring Ballina teenagers have shown wonderful initiative by organising a fundraiser for one of their best friends who is facing a battle with cancer,
Daire O’Connor, Diarmuid Duggan, and Cian Fitzpatrick took it upon themselves to organise a ‘Shave or Dye’ fundraiser for their friend Jack Clarke, who at age 15 finds himself in a fight with leukemia.
The fundraiser has been a massive success and passed the €30,000 mark within the first few days. The lads now hope to reach an incredible €50,000.
Jack is a much-loved young man from Ballina who has been an active member of Ballina Town FC, Ballina Stephenites, Ballina Rugby Club, Moy Valley Athletic Club, as well as being a key member of the GAA and soccer teams at St Muredach’s College.
Daire, Cian, and Diarmuid are aiming to raise as much money as possible to help Jack, who lost his mother Ursula to cancer just two years ago.
Many heads have undergone the shave or dye challenge thus far and the trio has called for all of Jack’s family, friends, team-mates, school-mates, and anyone else who is willing to shave their head or dye their hair in solidarity with Jack and to donate to this important cause.
