With the due date of registrations for Welcome Baby Celebrations fast approaching parents are encouraged to sign up to include their bundle of joy in the festivities.
Welcome Baby Celebration is a wonderful way to celebrate the newest members of the Bundaberg community and is incorporated in the Flourish Family Fun Day at Boreham Park.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Welcome Baby event provides new parents and caregivers the opportunity to welcome their baby as a valued member of the Bundaberg Region community.
The aim is to connect local families with services and information from local community groups, businesses and family services, which will join in the Welcome Baby festivities.
C&K Manager Childcare Operations Zalee Turner said C&K’s childcare and kindergarten Bundaberg services had proudly participated in the Flourish Family Fun Day and Welcome Baby Celebration each year since it started.
“We look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting the newest members of our community,” she said.
“The Flourish Family Fun Day and Welcome Baby Celebration enables families to talk to and access information from different community organisations, whilst enjoying a fun day out.
“It also celebrates the diversity of our community and provides an opportunity for people to make important social connections.
“We’ll also have fun activities and giveaways for the children, including creating mini blackboards and a cardboard play tunnel.”
Zalee said local C&K representatives would be available to talk to families about early childhood and education needs and services available to them.
Welcome Baby a fantastic celebration
She said C&K were also looking forward to being part of the popular Welcome Baby Celebration.
“The Welcome Baby Celebration is always a popular event and one C&K is proud to support with contributions to the Welcome Baby bags,” she said.
“We love meeting the new babies and supporting their families with their childcare needs.
“Many parents are coming to the end of their maternity leave, or considering starting their child in childcare, which can be a very emotional time.
“We can talk with them to understand their needs and provide information, advice and support to make the process easier for them.”
Wide Bay Kids’ Gayle Reynolds said they too had been involved since the inception of the annual event and they looked forward to it each year.
“Flourish Family Fun Day provides an opportunity for people in the community to come together, socialise, and strengthen their bonds,” Gayle said.
“It creates a sense of belonging and unity among residents.
“The Welcome Baby Celebration serves as a platform to showcase and provide access to various support services, resources, and information relevant to families and children.
“This year that includes health services, educational programs, recreational activities, and so much more.
“This event is important for the entire community as it stimulates a belonging culture and more connected community.”
Gayle said Wide Bay Kids would have an interactive stall set up for the whole family and she hoped to see the community take part.
“We are hosting a scavenger hunt activity the whole family will enjoy,”
“We have some great prizes up for grabs on the day too.”
To celebrate this special time, Welcome Baby Celebration participants will receive a Baby Loves Bundaberg pack including a Golden Penda tree, the Bundaberg Region’s floral emblem, and a signed certificate from the Mayor of Bundaberg.
