On the other side of the world, any contact with your family is special. So when Kruise Leeming was getting changed before his match on Saturday, to be greeted in person by his sister, Marty must have been an emotional moment.
Leeming, who is heavily linked with a move back to Super League in 2024, was starting hooker for Gold Coasts Titans’ feeder club Tweed Heads Seagulls and the moment he was reunited with his sibling moments before he headed out for the warm-up was captured by the Titans’ media team.
Although the Seagulls didn’t get the result, Leeming scored a fantastic try on 33 minutes to welcome his sister down under. They eventually went down 26-22 to Burleigh Bears, who were inspired by former Warrington Wolves halfback Tyrone Roberts, New Zealand flyer Ken Maumalo and bulldozing second-rower Jacob Alick.

Catalans Dragons look favourites to land the former Leeds Rhinos captain’s signature as it stands, but other clubs have tried to pursue a move for Leeming. Since leaving Leeds in March, the hooker has played six times in the NRL for the Titans, scoring one try in their defeat to Brisbane Broncos.
