Westmere Motor Sport is gearing up for another exciting weekend of motorkhana action this weekend with the fourth round of the 2023 Motorsport Australia Victorian Motorkhana Championship taking place at the Colac Sales Yard.
The two-day event is open to all drivers aged twelve and above with a roadworthy car, regardless of experience, and Westmere Motorsport is encouraging those new to the sport, or anyone looking to get involved to join them on Saturday for their Come and Try Event.
This opening day of the event will serve as an introduction for anyone wanting to learn car control in a safe and supportive environment, separate from the pressures of an official round.
The state competition will then run on Sunday, with a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve tests to be conducted for those eager to compete at a higher level.
As the entry list continues to grow ahead of the event, a number of regular contenders have been confirmed for the round two winner Michael Excell, and previous podium getters Edward Lewis and Nicholas Charrett.
Headlining the 24-car entry list so far though is a familiar name to the national motorkhana fraternity and the current state championship leader in Phillip East.
A regular in the New South Wales scene, East has had a strong start to the 2023 season south of the NSW border, having won the two of the opening three Victorian rounds, while also scoring solid results in his hometown too.
With the championship likely to welcome an average field of 25 competitors in, the weekend is set to be an exciting and highly competitive one for both competitors and spectators.
Catering will be provided on both days and entry for spectators is free.
All details regarding entry fees for competitors and how to access the venue are available here.
