Since entering the NFL in 2016, Tyreek Hill has become one of the league’s most prolific wide receivers. He has a Super Bowl win, has made the Pro Bowl every season, and has broken franchise records with the Chiefs and now the Dolphins.
According to Emmanuel Acho, Hill may break a record held by Hall of Famer Randy Moss in 2023. Acho said on his show ‘SPEAK’: “Think about what Tyreek Hill gave you last year. I believe he could break the single-season receiving record this season.”
The single-season receiving yards record is currently held by Calvin Johnson with 1,964 yards in 2012. Acho believes Hill can surpass this record in 2023.
However, Moss does hold a couple of records that Hill could break:
- Most touchdown receptions in a season: 23
- Most games with at least two touchdowns in a season: 8 in 2007
Hill came close to breaking the single-season TD catches record in 2020 with 15. He has also had 14 games (13 regular-season, one postseason) with more than one touchdown, mostly in 2018.
When asked about breaking the single-season receiving yards record, Hill responded: “Oh yeah, for sure. I think the added game gives me quite the advantage, so yeah.”
Hill is confident he can achieve it
Hill believes he has the right circumstances to achieve this feat: “For me, not getting injured, coming in each day wanting to get better, wanting to be coached. I’ve got the most accurate quarterback in the NFL, one of the best head coaches, and my position coach is a monster. So with those things and my mindset to break the record, I feel like this is one of those years that I can achieve it.”
Hill’s determination, along with the support of his team, makes him confident in his ability to make history in the 2023 season. Football fans eagerly anticipate the exciting performances “Cheetah” will deliver as he aims to etch his name in the record books.
