Smart filly Typhoon Titmus will start a brief but targeted winter campaign at Saturday’s Flemington meeting.
Typhoon Titmus as a three-year-old talent in the spring, progressing from a Pakenham Synthetic maiden win on debut to finish runner-up in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes last October.

Co-trainer Mathew de Kock said Saturday’s Jockey Assistance Program Plate (1200m) would be one of possibly two runs for the Headwater filly this time in.
“At this stage, we’re probably just going to go through that Leilani Series,” de Kock, who trains Typhoon Titmus in partnership with Robbie Griffiths, said.
“She can follow that and she can come back in the spring.
“She’ll have a lightish winter with only a couple of runs and be back in the spring.”
Typhoon Titmus has eased from $6 to $7 in TAB’s early betting on the $150,000 contest.

TAB has the Griffiths and de Kock-trained Let‘sbefrankbaby as the early $3.80 favourite for Saturday’s Group 3 SA Fillies Classic (2500m).
Let’sbefrankbaby is one of two runners from the Cranbourne stable along with the US-bred Stormy Grey.
Let’sbefrankbaby has won two of her three starts this time in with a third in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes in Adelaide her only autumn defeat.
However, de Kock said there was little between the stable’s two runners despite Stormy Grey only breaking her maiden at her last start at Cranbourne.
“She (Stormy Grey) is jumping from maiden grade but we think she’s good enough,” de Kock said.
“I don’t think they’re overly strong this year. I think they’re competitive but there’s nothing to be scared of.
“We’ve also got Let’sbefrankbaby in the yard, who is a good yardstick for that type of racing as she’s been running in all the big races.
“There’s not much between them, which gives us confidence.”
TAB has Stormy Grey at $13 in its SA Fillies’ Classic market.
