Police have charged two Gympie men in relation to two separate break and enters to Gympie businesses recent days.
At approximately 8.59pm on 3 June, it is alleged that a man was observed entering a business on River Road at Gympie, followed by the sound of smashing glass and an alarm.
A short time later, police arrived and were advised that the alleged offender was still believed to be inside the premises.
Police contacted an employee of the business, who was able to view internal cameras at the business remotely, and advised that there appeared to be at least one person inside.
It is alleged that police called for the offender to exit the business, before a man wearing a stocking over his head, exited.
A 34-year-old Gympie man was charged with one count enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and four other offences relating to other matters in Gympie between 23 and 29 May, including one count failure to appear in accordance with undertaking, one count stealing after previous conviction, one count possessing/acquiring restricted items and one count of attempted stealing.
He is set to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on 17 July.
At approximately 9.20pm on 6 June, Police allege a man used a metal axe to break through a glass window at the front of a Station Road business and gain entry.
Police say the man removed cash from the register and approximately 20 vials of various animal prescription and non-prescription medications.
The business owner also viewed CCTV footage remotely to alert Police to the presence of a man wearing a hooded jumper covering his head, removing the property inside the business.
When Police arrived, they located the offender standing in front of the business, holding a plastic bag containing the alleged stolen medications and money.
A 43-year-old Gympie man was charged with one count of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.
He appeared in Gympie Magistrates court on Monday.
