The cake MasterChef contestants tried to recreate in the TV show’s latest pressure test is now available to order.
MasterChef judge Andy Allen stunned by spicy dish
Good news! The gelato maestros are offering viewers (and frozen dessert enthusiasts) the chance to pre-order one of the marvels, aptly dubbed ‘Look Mum, I’m on TV!’ with the site going live straight after air.
In case you missed it, on the May 30 episode of MasterChef, Messina co-owner and head chef Donato Toce oversaw contestants as they sweated their way through a pressure test to recreate the deceptive dessert.
Just like on the show, each cake is handmade by Messina chefs and serves 10 to 14 people.
The magical Messinetta is made from vanilla sponge layered with chocolate gelato, vanilla gelato and strawberry gel, finished with chocolate shards and piped with vanilla chantilly cream. Yep, we’re clearing out our freezers now.
If you don’t want to commit to the whole cake, don’t worry, you won’t miss out on your chance to try the classic combo.
All Messina stores will also be stocking the special edition flavour as part of their weekly flavour rotation for one week.
The flavour launches on May 31, allowing customers to enjoy their scoops or take home a whole tub.
The Neapolitan Messinetta is on sale for $120 from 8.40pm on Tuesday, May 30 for pre-order and collection from Messina stores between June 16-18. Order through the website here.
