As the daughter of famed television producer Aaron Spelling, Tori Spelling has truly lived a life in the public spotlight.
From her early start on The Love Boat as a young girl to her iconic role of Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210, Tori catapulted to fame at a young age as an actress before her dramatic personal life eventually became more headline-worthy.
Now, as the Hollywood staple celebrates her milestone 50th birthday, DailyMail.com takes a look back at her style evolution over the years – from her early start as a brunette child actress to a blonde bombshell reality star.
1983: CHILD STAR
Spelling rocked a head full of short curly hair in one of her first roles – the hit TV series The Love Boat.
At the time, her father was a producer on the series.
She was just a child at the time but made several cameo appearances.
A 1987 episode of the show Hotel saw Tori rocking the same hairstyle, along with a flashy color block sweater.
1990: BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 FAME
Spelling was 17 when she joined the show that would catapult her to fame, Beverly Hills, 90210.
Tori was cast as Donna Martin, a wealthy high school student who developed an eye for fashion.
Pictures of Tori at this time show her looking every inch the stylish teen, as she’s seen rocking the latest trends from denim to boots.
1993: A STAR ON THE RISE
As her star rose, her eye for style grew as well.
Now in her early 20s, Tori was embracing her inner fashionista with looks that included the sunflower print dress she wore to the Kids Choice Awards.
She also wasn’t afraid to get people talking either, as seen during her 1995 appearance on The Tonight Show where she rocked a satin mini dress and head full of curls.
2000s STYLE ICON
Like any superstar, Tori was a step ahead of the trends. As the world entered the 2000s, she embraced the fashion on and off the red carpet.
From billowing, embellished tanks to the classic hair poof, Tori was looking like a noughties style icon.
2000: ADULTHOOD
Now in her late 20s, Tori was a vision of confidence.
At the The Carousel of Hope Ball in 2000, she mixed up her hair style, trading in her blonde tresses for burgundy curls.
She was a far cry from her 90210 days in a dramatic gown which flashed leg.
Even at a more laid-back affair a few years later, Tori was looking great in a simple pink tank and jeans.
2004: MARRIED LIFE
In 2004, Tori had a new accessory on her arm – her first husband Charlie Shanian.
She was often pictured with him, attending gala events and even basketball games together.
A more grown-up side of Tori had emerged at this point as she began to embrace the latest chapter in her life – marriage.
The couple tied the knot in a $1 million affair but the marriage wasn’t meant to be – Charlie filed for divorced just over a year later.
2005: NEW ROMANCE
After meeting Dean McDermott on the set of the TV movie Mind Over Murder in 2005, sparks flew, despite the fact that they were both married to other people.
In her 2009 book, Stori Telling, Spelling admitted they had an affair while detailing telling her first husband that she had ‘never been in love with him’ and that she ‘married him because he was a great guy, a guy who took care of me.’
When Shanian asked if she had cheated, the mother-of-five confessed she did with McDermott, who she wed in May 2006.
Amid their whirlwind romance, the fashionista was often photographed wearing stunning, minimalistic dresses and gowns, which showcased her slim figure, to events.
2006: EXPECTING HER FIRST CHILD
A year after embarking on her headline-making romance with McDermott, Spelling announced they were expecting their first child together.
Ahead of the birth of her son, Liam Aaron McDermott, now 16, the reality star confirmed the news to Us Weekly as she said: ‘Dean and I are thrilled to be expecting our first child together…I can’t wait to be a mom!’
During her pregnancy, she did not shy away from plunging necklines or minidresses.
2007: LIFE AS A MOM
On March 13, 2007, her world changed forever when she gave birth to her little boy. On top of becoming a mother, she and her spouse debuted their first reality TV show, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, on Oxygen.
Their series, which ran for three seasons, followed them running a bed and breakfast in Fallbrook, California.
During this chapter, Spelling frequently wore bold, colorful prints as well as some iconic shimmery looks on the occasional night away from her newborn.
2008: REALITY FAME AND BABY NUMBER TWO
With more eyes on her than ever, Spelling chopped off her glossy tresses for a shoulder-length bob and primarily stuck to wearing figure-hugging dresses, which accentuated her baby bump.
In addition to finding success on reality television, the performer released her autobiography, Stori Telling, in 2008.
2009: COOL MOM STYLE
Despite having her hands full with two young children, the Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? star still managed to look effortlessly chic while stepping out for book signings, charity events and on date nights with her man.
She was also a fan of many of mid-2010s trends, like graphic t-shirts, belts, cowboy hats and tights.
2012: EXPANDING THE FAMILY AGAIN
Unlike her first two pregnancies, Spelling ‘spent 10 weeks in the hospital and four months on bed rest after doctors found that she was suffering from placenta previa, a condition that causes major internal bleeding because the placenta is covering the cervix,’ which according to USA Today.
During this rough time, she suffered from ‘nine massive bleeds and another post-partum emergency surgery after her C-section scars opened.’
Ultimately, she welcomed her third child, Hattie, on October 10, 2011.
Just five months later, the actress announced they had ‘another little McDermott’ on the way.
As she focused on her family and health, the beauty gravitated toward flowing maxi dresses and sandals.
2013: FOUR DECADES IN THE SPOTLIGHT
While her fashion has stayed relatively the same since turning 40 in 2013, she and McDermott got matching tattoos on their arms back in 2016.
The ink reads the French phrase, ‘Tout mon coeur, Tout ma vie,’ which translates to ‘My whole heart, my whole life.’
Over the past decade, Spelling began working more regularly on scripted projects, including Mystery Girls (2014), a reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210, titled BH90210 (2019).
50 AND FABULOUS!
Tori was feeling herself at her milestone bash earlier this week in a stunning emerald green dress.
She attended the party with her husband Dean McDermott.
The party, held at the French restaurant Caviar Kaspia in West Hollywood, was a who’s who of Tori’s friends and family, including her BFF Jennie Garth and mom Candy Spelling.
