A 16-month-old boy is in a “critical” condition in hospital with “life-threatening injuries” after a crash in Horsham on Sunday (June 18). The child, who was flown to hospital after the incident in Woodgates Close shortly after 4.10pm, is described as being in a “critical but stable condition”.
The road was immediately closed to the public and cordoned off after the incident. Sussex Police and SECamb paramedics were sent to the scene, as well as an air ambulance that airlifted the child to hospital.
Sussex Police remain at the scene on Monday (June 19) to carry out enquiries into the incident. There has been no confirmation on how many cars were involved or the nature of the crash.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to a road traffic incident in Woodgates Close, Horsham, shortly after 4.10pm on Sunday, June 18. A 16-month-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
“Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and remain at the scene in Horsham while enquiries are conducted.” No arrests have been made at this moment in time.
