Shepparton co-coach Xavier Stevenson:
“We were really pleased with our performance on the weekend, we thought it was probably as close to a four-quarter performance as we’ve had this year.
“It gives us a little bit more confidence going forward for the rest of the season as well.
“Tatura are in a very similar position to where we are – 7th versus 8th this weekend. We know their strengths, they’re a really strong defensive side and that’s been shown by their results this year.
“They’ve been ultra competitive in every game they’ve played and have had some really strong wins as well. We’re expecting a structurally sound side from a defensive point of view and probably a really close game.
“We’ll reclaim fellow coach Teddy Lindon back from suspension and Connor Fleming as well, who’s a really important defender for us.
“We lose Tanner Madigan from the weekend, one of our young defenders who unfortunately broke his clavical which will a require a fair bit of time on the sideline.”
Rochester coach Ash Watson:
“We were super proud with the way the boys played (last weekend), we’ve been working on our ball movement a fair bit over the pre-season and through the first half of the season and to see it come to fruition was really good.
“For us we’ve had Joe Atley be a solid contributor, he’s been outstanding for us all year winning a lot of contested footy inside for us.
“Mitch Cricelli in the ruck has been doing a great job for us there, they’re a couple of the main ones who had good game on the weekend and had good seasons all round really.
“(Shepparton United) are going to come out firing no doubt, playing on their home deck and we’ve got to be up for the challenge to match them.
“We know it’s going to be won in the midfield, so we’ll come prepared for that, we know it’s going to be a fight all day, so we have to take our chances.
“We lost Jim McPhee on the weekend with an ankle, so he’ll be out this weekend as well.”
Mooroopna coach John Lamont:
“I think Euroa’s season is building which can sometimes happen after a grand final loss, so they’re still to play their best footy – I reckon they would say that. We’d like to say that about ourselves as well.
“They were too strong for us both times last year, so I’m expecting another tough encounter.
“Both teams have changed a little bit in terms of personnel, that’s pretty standard.
“They were good games against them last year, they held us at bay through both games, so hopefully we can keep improving.
“They were very good around the stoppages against us both times, so we’ll need to match them around the stoppages and make sure if they do get on top around there, we still have good pressure so their forwards don’t get silver service.
“We’ll have an unchanged line up from last week which is about the first time for the year.”
Mansfield coach Chad Owens:
“(Kyabram are) flying at the moment, they’re two games clear on top of the ladder on us, so I think they’re the form team out of us two, so there’d be a fair bit of pressure on them.
“We start and finish games pretty well at the moment, so it’s just a matter of making sure that we’re on against a quality opponent, you’ve got to be on for the whole game.
“If you look at their’s and Seymour’s game, it was a nail-biter which went down to pretty much the last kick, so we’ve got to get ready for something similar to that.
“The midfield will be a really interesting battle, up forward they’ve got quality players in Mangan, Mueller.
“Then we’ve got Benny Christopher, Cam up forward, so they’ve got to get match-ups for them as well.
“Herbert and Mahoney and those guys through the middle for us and them, that’s going to be a really interesting.
“Tommy McDonagh comes back in the ruck for us this week which is huge as well.”
Euroa coach Scott Rowan:
“We thought we grinded (Rochester) down last weekend and were able to finish the game playing some pretty good footy and getting some reward on the scoreboard.
“Mooroopna are an extremely well coached and extremely talented football team. They’re coming over to our home deck, we won’t be at all making it easy for them.
“We expect a really good hit-out, but are quietly confident with the group we’ve got, we can come away with the win.
“Hayesy (Will Hayes) will be back in and Harrison Jarvie will come back in, so that brings a bit of toughness around the football, so we’re excited for the challenge.
