The Bundaberg Neighbourhood Centre is encouraging the community to get involved in three upcoming workshops and information sessions that aim to support locals.
Youth Leadership Development workshop
The Youth Leadership Development workshop for aspiring young leaders will be held on 22 June.
Guest presenters will provide an insight into their journey in becoming a leader, share information on what makes a good leader and how young people have the potential to become leaders themselves.
This workshop is available to all young people between 15 and 25 years and will be held at the Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre on Thursday 22 June from 9.30 am to noon.
Protective Behaviours expressions of interest
Protective Behaviours is a play-based workshop for three to five year olds from immigrant families.
Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre is calling for expressions of interest to register.
The sessions will be delivered by fully trained educators.
The program will run for three weeks and will operate two mornings per week, commencing at 9 am.
Information session for immigrants
Bundaberg Neighbourhood Centre, in collaboration with Phoenix House, is offering a free information session for people from migrant backgrounds.
Participants will learn what sexual assault and sexual abuse is, how to recognise the signs of abuse and how to effectively communicate and support a victim of abuse.
Information will also be provided about how and where to seek professional support.
