The Baldwinsville boys lacrosse team is one win away from repeating as state champs. The Bees edged Pittsford 7-6 in the Class A semifinal on Friday at Homer High School. Carson Dyl led the way for B’ville with two goals. Nicholas Cary stopped nine shots for the Bees in the win. Baldwinsville (18-2) will play for the NYSPHSAA Class A title on Sunday at Hofstra University against Farmingdale (Section VIII Champion) at 10 a.m.
In Class C, Jamesville-DeWitt got six goals from Gannon Kessler, five of them in the first quarter as the Red Rams breezed past Honeoye Falls-Lima 13-5. Samuel Brazell added four goals and an assist in the J-D win. Jamesville-DeWitt (16-4) advances to the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship game to take on Manhasset (Section VIII Champion) on Sunday down at Hofstra University at 3 p.m.
For the first time in school history, the Marcellus boys lacrosse team will play for a state title. Marcellus edged Penn Yan 7-6 in the Class D semis at TC3 on Friday afternoon. Nick Rayfield paced the Mustangs attack with four goals in the win over Penn Yan. Marcellus (18-3) will play for the NYSPHSAA Class D State title on Sunday against Cold Spring Harbor (Section VIII Champion) at 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Hofstra University.
The West Genesee boys lacrosse team saw its season come to an end, falling in the Class B semis to Victor 20-9. The Wildcats wrap up the season with a record of 13-7.
