IT was another huge week of racing and here are the top 10 performances which rated through the charts.
10. PALAWA KING – Rating -10.3
(3rd Albion Park – Group 3 Super Stayers)
While on face value for punters the run may have seemed a little disappointing, Palawa King’s third in the Super Stayers fared very well on ratings. The Origin Distance winner had to do a mountain of work midrace to find the front before being found wanting late, beaten 1 ½ lengths. Still a major Queensland Cup contender.
9. FIRST PICKED – Rating -10.6
(2nd Albion Park – Group 3 Super Stayers)
Has flourished while up in Queensland and produced another terrific effort when flooding home late along the rails in the Super Stayers. Her 41.73 time to finish second was clearly the best she’s produced in the Sunshine State and with master trainer Rob Britton at the wheel, is right in the Queensland Cup mix.
8. DAYS OF THUNDER – Rating -10.7
(1st Albion Park – Group 3 Super Stayers)
Dropped from the clouds to win the Super Stayers in a flying 41.67 – the quickest time she’s posted in 34 runs at the track and distance. Suited by the small field but still needed to get over the top of some topline group performers and can no doubt make her presence felt in the Queensland Cup with the breaks in transit.

7. AMRON BOY – Rating -10.8
(1st Albion Park – Brisbane Cup Prelude)
Was having his first spin around Albion Park and while not facing much in terms of opposition was awesome scoring in 29.73. The performance rated right up there and the dual group 1 winner heads into the Brisbane Cup with undeniable claims.
6. WHEEL AND GO – Rating -11.1
(2nd Albion Park – Garrard’s Stake)
Ran a cracking second to Adulate and given his box draw and overall sectionals it was an effort that rated extremely highly. Third in group company three runs back and from the rails in a Queensland Cup heat on Thursday looks set to run a big race.
5. NAVARINO – Rating -11.3
(1st – The Meadows – GRV Stake)
What revelation this fella is proving to be. Won the recent Pink Diamond Sprint before repeating the dose with a spectacular box eight demolition at The Meadows on Saturday night in 29.85. Who knows what his ceiling is at the trajectory he’s on.
‘Navarino’ goes whoa!
NAVARINO has emphasised his star potential with an excellent performance in quick time at @MelbourneGreys.

4. SIMPLY LIMELIGHT – Rating 11.7
(2nd – Wentworth Park – Farrel’s Dog Biscuits Stk)
Returns to Brisbane this Thursday on the back of a spectacular second at headquarters on Saturday night where the Golden Easter Egg winner roared to the line. His run home rated off the charts off an awkward draw. Going sensational as evidenced on the weekend.
3. TRANSPONDER – Rating 12.7
(1st – Sandown Park – Sportsbet Stake)
Posted a flying 29.12 at Sandown Park and looked to be running every bit of it. Was coming off a flying Pink Diamond win when downing a red hot field and is quickly proving himself to be one of the best young sprinters in training. The Sandown Park performance was just sublime.
And it rolls on.

2. WENDY ROCKS – Rating -12.9
(1st Albion Park – Open Stake)
Trainer John Dart believes the best of this daughter of Sennachie is still a few months away but on the strength of what we see at The Creek last Thursday her best right now is pretty special itself. Posted 41.63 – quicker than what Days Of Thunder went in the Super Stayers.
1. POSTMAN PAT – Rating -14.8
(1st Albion Park – Brisbane Cup Prelude)
No surprises as to who earns the number one rating this week following Postman Pat’s ‘Brett Lee-like’ Albion Park debut posting a near record 29.39. It was a performance which shot him atop of Brisbane Cup betting as he looks to keep his unbeaten Australian record intact.
