Old bean
With its Grain de Café collection, Cartier again demonstrates its skill for heightening the ordinary. The humble coffee bean, an emblem of designer Jeanne Toussaint’s avant-garde aesthetic, first appeared in 1938 and remained a signature of the house during the Fifties and Sixties. Today’s designs feature clusters of gold beans set with white diamonds, each subtly articulated.
