Thousands of runners participated in the annual CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in downtown Albany. The 3.5-mile loop around Washington Park begins and ends at the Empire State Plaza. It is the largest running event in the Capital Region and is a major fundraiser for the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club.
The men’s winner was Ricardo Estremera, 37, of Albany, with a time of 16:51. The women’s top finisher was Karen Bertasso-Hughes with a time of 20:14.

Proceeds help HMRRC’s support of college scholarships, grants, free races for members and the Just Run Program, which encourages grade school children to run.
