North Rockhampton could soon be closer to securing its own Aldi store as builders vie for the construction contract. DETAILS.
Plans were submitted for the stand-alone building to be constructed in the car park near Kmart and Mandalay Medical Centre in May last year.
The development application, submitted on behalf of Stockland, did not require council table approval and was approved by planning officers in October.

The single storey building has been approved to be 6.25 metres high, would have a gross floor area of 1725 sqm and would be connected to Stockland with an awning.
The development footprint will take up 123 of the shopping centre’s car parks, leaving a total of 2706 spaces remaining.
Stockland was not able to comment on the timeline of the project, but said it was working through the construction tender process.
It will mark the second store for the German supermarket giant in the city, with the first one in south Rockhampton which opened in October 2019.
