A 19-year-old man who allegedly trafficked meth and was found to be in possession of more than $16,100 has appeared in court.
Trey Rogers, of Warrnambool, appeared via video link in the Geelong Magistrates’ Court for a bail application in relation to trafficking of methamphetamine.
Police allege that on Friday, officers executed a search warrant at Mr Rogers’ home address and located a number of items, which included a knuckle duster.
The court was told on Saturday, police searched an Airbnb which had been booked by Mr Rogers’ mother.
During their search, police allege they found 35 grams of meth, $16,100 in cash, two syringes containing brown liquid and one large zip lock bag.
In an interview with police Mr Rogers said he was residing at the Airbnb where the cash and meth had been located.
The court was told Mr Rogers also told police he had been using 3.5 grams of meth a day.
At 8.35pm on Saturday, Mr Rogers was intercepted by officers on the Great Ocean Road, however, police allege he continued driving at speed.
Police said they seized the car as evidence and were continuing to forensically examine the vehicle.
In the early hours of Sunday Mr Rogers was arrested and remanded in custody.
Magistrate Simon Guthrie granted bail under strict conditions.
Mr Rogers will appear again in court on June 8.
