Percy Tau is set to play in his third CAF Champions League final after helping Al Ahly overcome Esperance of Tunisia
Tau played a huge role first-leg where he scored a brace and helped the Red Devils beat Esperance 3-0 in Tunisia.
On Friday, Tau provided the assist to Hussein El Shahat to score the only goal of the match and win 4-0 on aggregate.

Al Ahly’s win sees them marched on to their fourth successive final.
Tau is set to win a treble this season
Al Ahly are top of the Egyptian league and are likely to win should they continue their current form.
In April, they triumph over Pyramids FC to win the Egyptian FA Cup for a record 38th time.
Tau’s coach Marcel Koller has earleir thanked supporters for coming in numbers.

I thank Al Ahly fans for their constant support in the recent games,” said Ahly coach Marcel Koller.
“The absence of the fans helps me as when I shout at the players, they hear me, but despite that, I enjoy the atmosphere in their presence as football is played for the fans,” he said.

Tau’s side will either face Mamelodi Sundowns or Wydad Casablanca in the final. Both teams played to a 0-0 draw at the Stade Mohammed V stadium on 13 May 2023.
Downs vs Ahly likely for final it seems
Downs are favourites to reach a final and should they find a way to beat Wydad, it could set a reunion between Percy Tau and his former coach Rulani Mokwena.
