Seymour was unable to extend its four-game winning streak with a win against the Bulldogs who sat equal on the ladder going into the game.
Tatura, proving to be too much to handle for the Lions, clinched a 48 to 40-point win at home on Saturday afternoon.
Ellie Fuhrmeister’s side would have jumped into equal first place if results went its way on Saturday but it was not to be.

It was a relativity low-scoring affair with neither side wanting to give their opponents any breathing room.
Tatura’s efficiency in front of goal turned out to be the deciding factor, allowing it to pull out a lead as full-time approached.

The Bulldogs’ win saw the side throw its hat into the ring for top spot on the ladder if results were favourable and a slip-up from Mooroopna was just what it needed.
Top-of-the-table Mooroopna went down to mid-table home side Echuca, 55 to 43, which left the door open for Tatura and Euroa to draw level on 32 points at the top of the table.
Seymour sits just behind the front runners on 28 points and Fuhrmeister’s side will be looking to put pressure with a win over Echuca at home this weekend.
