The 1973 and 1993 premierships were ‘played’ over and over with yarns about numerous players told during the course of the event.

Twenty teams entered Mathoura Bowling Club’s inaugural winter tournament, the Cadell County Two-Bowl Triples, last weekend.
The competitors included many old friends, as well as some new-comers.
Play involved three games of 16 ends on Saturday and two games of 16 ends on Sunday.
The two days’ play resulted in three five-game winners, necessitating a play-off to determine the winner and runner-up.
Team Learmonth got the bye, taking them straight into the final.
A play-off between John McGowan’s team and the Bendigo team saw the Bendigo side going through to the final.
Team Learmonth, first time visitors, took the crown in the event.
The next tournament on the club’s calendar will be the Gulpa Creek Fours on June 17 and 18.
Entries should be booked with the club or Paul Clear.
