Sydney Roosters vs Canberra Raiders Predictions
The Roosters have been subpar this year, very subpar. But some glimpses of magic have been seen these past few weeks and fans are hopeful of a resurgence as we head toward the pointy end of the season.

I am backing the Roosters to regain some attacking prowess against a team they have dominated in recent years and pass their team total. The game will be close and decided in the last 10 minutes. Egan Butcher will look to crack the Raiders defence early out wide, back him in for a first-half meat pie!
- Canberra have allowed an average of 30 points to their opponents in their last 4 games.
- The Roosters average 27 points against the Raiders in regular season games since 2019.
- 10 of the last 12 Raiders games played on a Sunday have finished with a margin of 12 points or less.
- The Raiders allow 42% of their opposition tries down the right edge.
Head to Head
Sydney have dominated Canberra over the last four seasons winning five of seven regular season games since the beginning of 2019.
These teams have also met in two finals games in that period going 1-1 but with the Roosters win being the 2019 Grand Final.
The Raiders won the only game played in 2022 22-16 in Canberra.
Sydney Roosters Form
The Roosters were on a three-game losing streak prior to their bye in round 13. Since then they have won two of three games but they have come unconvincingly with a one and two-point margin in each game.
Their loss to the Panthers by 24 points in 15 was a reminder that the Roosters defence is not at the level it has been in the past decade.

Canberra Raiders Form
Canberra are coming off their second bye of the season in round 16. Before that they split their previous 4 games going 2-2 against very varied opponents.
Wins were achieved against the Rabbitohs and Tigers but losses to Manly and New Zealand either side means Canberra remain a danger of falling out of the top 8 with a loss this weekend.
Canberra Raiders Team News
The Raiders are unchanged from their last game when they lost against the Warriors. NSW Origin rep Hudson Young is expected to back up.
