- Auto Trader says there are 42% more ‘supercars’ listed for sale than a year ago
- These are cars listed at prices over £150k and includes Ferraris and Rolls-Royces
The number of second-hand ‘supercars’ being advertised for sale in Britain has rocketed 42 per cent in the past 12 months indicating wealthy owners are starting to feel the pinch and want to offload their high-end motors.
Last month, 3,194 vehicles were listed on Auto Trader with asking prices in excess of £150,000. That compares to just 2,252 in April last year.
This includes models from some of the most admired luxury brands, including Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.
With more £150,000-plus models on the market meaning stiffer competition, owners are also facing difficulties offloading them because the volume of searches for these motors has fallen by 4 per cent in the last 12 months, the online car marketplace said.
Auto Trader’s data shows that these cars are now taking 80 days – more than two-and-a-half months – to sell on average.
This is 24 days – or just over three weeks – longer than compared to April 2022.
The figures reveal that Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Land Rovers and Bentleys account for the lion’s share of the extra £150,000-plus vehicles for sale, with McLarens the only make to show a drop in listings compared to last year.
