Hawaii’s Oahu island is home to the world’s greatest surfing spots. From Waimea Bay to Sunset Beach, the island is popularly termed the “Mecca of surfing.” The waves at Oahu are pretty gentle in summer but as the weather moves toward winter, the swell builds up to thirty ft, making it dangerous for beginner and experienced surfers. Recently, a 50-year-old man encountered a life-threatening surfing situation at Diamond Head in Honolulu city.
On May 1, the news website Star-Advertiser reported about a man’s critical ordeal when he faced the strong and big waves at the Diamond Head off Makalei Beach. His adventurous surfing experience resulted in making him unresponsive in the end.
