The Andrews Labor Government will extend its support for two programs designed to empower rural and regional communities across Victoria for 2023.
Minister for Regional Development Harriet Shing today announced an additional $700,000 in funding for the Regional Community Leadership Program and another $225,000 for Go Goldfields’ Every Child Every Chance initiative.
The Regional Community Leadership Program provides existing and emerging regional leaders across the state with a range of opportunities to acquire experience, develop networks, and practice important leadership skills.
Additional funding will support the program’s 213 participants across rural and regional Victoria to complete this year’s program.
This funding will assist the program team to plan their transition to alternative funding arrangements, with the support of Regional Development Victoria.
Go Goldfields supports positive long-term outcomes for local children and their families, focusing on five key priority areas. Every Child, Every Chance brings together decision makers from key government agencies with local health and education providers and Central Goldfields Shire.
The new investment in both initiatives will help provide certainty for the programs as they plan beyond the end of this year.
The funding is part of the Government’s record investment of more than $41 billion investment across regional and rural Victoria since 2015.
