Despite a wet first half of the year, Tauranga City Council says the foundation and groundworks for their future office block at 90 Devonport Road are”progressing well”.
“Passerby’s may notice a crane going up in the next few weeks in preparation for the first delivery of structural timber to arrive on site.
“There are also some changes coming up on Devonport Road. Next week, a pedestrian gantry tunnel on the Devonport Road frontage of the site will be installed to provide an uninterrupted, safe passage for pedestrians to use the footpath while construction works are happening above ground level.
“At the same time a loading zone will be created in front of the gantry to use throughout the duration of construction works.
“Due to limited space on site this is necessary for deliveries, and will mean that 13 car parks in front of the gantry will be temporarily closed to the public from Wednesday, June 21, until construction is complete.
“We understand the impacts construction disruption can have on businesses while our city undergoes transformation and appreciate your understanding as we work to create a more vibrant and thriving city centre.”
