Race 2. (13:35) Evergreen Turf Maiden (1000m)
#8 – Pop Rock @ $2.80
Pop Rock has the breeding to suggest it could make a winning debut after some pleasing jumpout form.
The three-year-old son of Shamus Award has been jumping out well at home, which bodes well for a good debut effort.
Punters get fair odds and they could shorten on race day.
Race 3. (14:05) Pipe Pro Direct Drilling Maiden (1200m)
#11 – Royalz @ $3.30
Royalz is a former Kiwi runner who owns three placings from five starts, and she could make a winning Australian debut.
The daughter of Almanzor finished seventh at Taupo last start before making the move, so there is good confidence with this runner.
Her odds opened at $3.90 and she has been heavily backed.
Race 6. (15:45) Hygain Winners Choice BM64 (1200m)
#2 – Matao Ma @ $4
Matao Ma looked good when winning consecutive races at Kilmore and Seymour before finishing third at Ballarat last time out.
The four-year-old son of Brazen Beau loves running over the distance with seven starts for one win and four placings.
Barrier six is ideal and he should get a nice drag into the race.
Race 7. (16:15) Sportsbet Bet with Mates BM70 (1500m)
#8 – Sir Atlas @ $2.90
Sir Atlas is unbeaten after two starts, including a last-start win at Geelong by three lengths.
The four-year-old son of Sir Percy defeated a handy type in Paris Affair, so he has every chance to making it a winning hat-trick.
Getting the inside draw only helps his chances.

Race 2. (12:50) Aquawest Maiden Handicap (1250m)
#1 – Aimpoint @ $1.80
Aimpoint hasn’t been too far away from the prize so far and he shouldn’t take long to break through.
The three-year-old gelding by Epaulette has been prepared with a trial at Mudgee, and the money has come for it.
Barrier four is ideal and he’s worth including in selections.
Race 3. (13:30) James Bradford Rural Maiden (1400m)
#12 – Songbird Star @ $2.35
Songbird Star comes off a second placing on debut at Mudgee, and that’s a tidy form guide.
The three-year-old filly by Stratum Star had good betting support at $2.80 on that occasion, so we’re not surprised by the money coming for it.
Punters should take the odds available before they firm.
Race 6. (15:29) Ultrafeet Lighting Handicap (1000m)
#5 – Schiller Bay @ $3.40
Schiller Bay owns five wins and five placings from 18 starts, including four wins over the distance.
The five-year-old son of Artie Schiller capped off good form with a win at Taree last start, and he’s good enough to rise through the grades.
Good tracks are ideal, so he gets conditions to suit.
Race 7. (16:07) Mannion Drilling Gunnedah Cup (1600m)
#3 – Akasawa @ $2.90
Akasawa has been heavily backed to score after winning at Scone, which should be an excellent form guide.
The five-year-old son of Real Impact owns seven wins from 12 starts overall, so he has plenty of ability and speed to burn.
Barrier four is ideal and his odds should shorten.
