Former WWE star and 2023 World’s Strongest Man fifth place finisher Evan “T-Rex” Singleton entered the Dragon’s Lair with seven-time Mr. Olympia Flex Lewis for a heavy deadlift session and an arm workout. On June 6, 2023, Singleton posted a video laying out the workout at Lewis’s gym on his YouTube channel. Check out the video here:

“T-Rex” Enters The Dragon’s Lair
Singleton started with warm-up sets of traditional deadlifts with lighter weights. He progressively increased the load until reaching his working sets. The Dragon’s Lair generated some fire within the “T-Rex” as he locked out a repetition PR of 805 pounds for six reps.
Singleton and Lewis followed the heavy deadlifts with three variations of cable triceps pressdowns — rope pushdowns, reverse-grip bar pushdowns, and overhead extensions. When asked how bodybuilders train arms, Lewis explained that during his competition days, he would train into the hundreds of reps.
“I would do three rotations in that [tricpes pushdowns],” shared Lewis. “That’s a hundred reps per set, and I’d do three of them. So it’s 300 reps of… blood in the… triceps before you go anywhere.”
The duo performed 20 reps on each variation via supersets. Suffice it to say, their hundreds of reps resulted in a severe triceps pump. Lewis and Singleton continued applying tension to their triceps via plated pushdowns.
Once the back of their arms needed to rest, they superset dumbbell bicep curls and dumbbell skull crushers, followed by EZ-bar curls and lying cable curls.
Lewis coached Singleton through 500-plus reps of combined triceps work and several hundred reps of biceps training. That’s a lot of volume to log after setting a heavy deadlift PR.

Jacked at the Strongman Classic
Singleton made his WSM Final debut in 2023, ranking fifth overall. His next strongman contest is the 2023 Strongman Classic on July 8, 2023, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. We’ll see if his hypertrophy training in Vegas with one of bodybuilding’s great will translate to a stronger Viking Press in the UK.
