Mount Isa police arrested five youths on May 13, in connection to a stolen vehicle from a Mount Isa business.
Police received multiple calls for service in relation to a white Ford Ranger that was allegedly driving dangerously throughout the Mount Isa suburbs.
Between midnight and 1.40 on May 13, it is alleged that unknown youths attended a Mount Isa business and stole a white Ford Ranger.
It is alleged that three other vehicles were damaged during the removal of the Ford Ranger from its parked location on West Street.
Between 1.41am and 6.10am, it is alleged the stolen vehicle was driving dangerously including conducting burnouts, fishtails, mounting the median strip, driving on the wrong side of the road at speed, and in one instance, deliberately made physical contact with a marked police vehicle.
It is alleged that the stolen vehicle was observed ramming vehicles belonging to police and members of the public on Abel Smith Parade, Dora Street, and Camooweal Street.
It is further alleged that the stolen vehicle was observed colliding with two vehicles on Rodeo Drive and Simpson Street.
At approximately 6.10am, it is alleged that the stolen vehicle rammed a police vehicle head on that was parked at a stop sign on Simpson Street and Isa Street, causing minor damage to both vehicles.
The police involved in this collision reported injuries consistent with whiplash.
A short time later police located the stolen vehicle on the corner of Tadman Avenue and Walton Avenue, and made several arrests.
A 13-year-old Pioneer girl was charged with one count of dangerous operations of a vehicle, two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, one count of driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, and one count of breach of bail condition.
She is set to appear before the Mount Isa Childrens Court.
A 13-year-old Sunset boy was charged with one count of unlawful use of a vehicle, one count of wilful damage, and one count of breach of bail condition.
He is set to appear before the Mount Isa Childrens Court.
A 14-year-old Pioneer girl was charged with one count of unlawful use of a vehicle and two counts of breach of bail condition.
She is set to appear before the Mount Isa Childrens Court.
A 14-year-old Pioneer boy was charged with one count of dangerous operations of a vehicle, one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle, one count of wilful damage, one count of possession utensils or pipes, and two counts of breach of bail condition.
He is set to appear before the Mount Isa Childrens Court.
A 15-year-old Pioneer boy was charged with one count of dangerous operations of a vehicle, one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count of wilful damage.
He is set to appear before the Mount Isa Childrens Court.
