The Sleepy Hollow Sea Lions, led by three of the meet’s five triple-winners, cruised to the Marin Swim League championship at Miwok Aquatic Center in Novato on Saturday.
Sleepy Hollow, which entered the meet with an unblemished 7-0 record in dual meets this season, picked up 2,339.5 points, easily outdistancing the second-place Strawberry Seals with 1,601.5 points.
The Terra Linda Orcas (1,204.5), the Tidalwaves (1,056.5) and the Scott Valley Sea Serpents (869.5) rounded out the top five positions for the 10-team event.
The Sea Lions received the maximum of 60 points apiece from triple winners Elsa Kastner, Holly Hovey and Nate Greenberg.
Kastner (Girls 11-12) picked up victories in the 50-yard freestyle, the 50 butterfly and the 100 individual medley. Hovey (Girls 13-14) was victorious in the 50 free, 50 breaststroke and the 100 IM. Greenberg (Boys 13-14) touched the wall first in the 50 free, 50 fly, and 100 IM.
Other standouts for the Sea Lions included Julia Hyer (Girls 8-and-under, 50 points), Soren Scozzaro (Boys 8-and-under, 56), Hailey Bennett (Girls 9-10, 57), Magdalene Arenas (Girls 9-10, 54), Kathryn Fahy (Girls 11-12, 57), Zoe Singleton (Girls 11-12, 49), Hannah Reichley (Girls 13-14, 50) and Nolan Andrews (Boys 13-14, 53).
The Sea Lions were particularly dominant in the Girls 11-12 division, accounting for the top three scorers in that age group (Kastner, Fahy, Singleton).
The two other triple-winners on the day were Ariana Newman (Novato Riptide, Girls 8-and-under) and Jackson Stewart (Strawberry Seals, Boys 15-18). Newman won the 25 breast, 25 fly and 100 IM while Stewart was victorious in the 100 free, 50 backstroke and 50 fly.
The Strawberry Seals, who amassed a 6-1 record during the dual-meet season, rode a number of big performances in the top age group en route to their second-place finish. Strawberry swept the top three spots in the Girls 15-18 division with Annika Hayes (55.5), Isabella Uhlhorn-Thornton (53), plus Maeve McAuley (47.5).
The Seals also had the top two scorers in the Boys 15-18 group with Stewart (60) and Ewan Smith (54). Strawberry’s Jack Redemann was the top scorer in the Boys 9-10 group with 57 points.
Third-place Terra Linda saw almost 60 percent of its swimmers produce best times. The Tidalwaves in fourth were led by Adrian Atherton (Boys 11-12, 57) and Ava Pellumbi (Girls 13-14, 53).
Gavin Schwartz (57 points) was the top scorer in the Boys 8-and-under group, helping guide Scott Valley to a fifth-place finish.
The Marinwood Waterdevils (855 points), Lucas Valley Lightning (743.5), Novato Riptide (676), Rolling Hills Stingrays (385), and Swimarin Sharks (375) finished in sixth through 10th, respectively.
