A team of intrepid volunteers jumped out of an aircraft to raise £10,000 for a pioneering Highland centre for young people with complex needs.
Nine women completed the challenge for the £4.1 million Haven Centre which is nearing completion at a site in Inverness.
A 10th member, who was unable to do the skydive on the day, will reschedule it for later in the year.
The Haven Centre, which will include an indoor specialist play area with child care facilities, a community cafe, meeting spaces, and an outdoor garden, will be Scotland’s first multiple-purpose centre for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Watch: Progress on pioneering centre
The skydiving volunteers did the challenge at Strathallan Airfield near Auchterarder.
They comprised teams from the Elsie Normington Foundation (ENF), which is leading the Haven Centre project, the Special Needs Action Project (SNAP) and Key Housing which will provide personalised support in three respite flats at the centre.
They included Rona Matheson (56), ENF community fundraiser, and her daughter, Elmarie Matheson (20).
The others were Jillian Innes ( 47), Rebekha Innes (18), Jenni Campbell (33), Joanna Salach (42) Suzanne Mackay (43) Kirsty Russell (36) and Margaret Amos (59).
David Innes plans to reschedule his skydive for October.
Mrs Matheson described it as an “amazing” experience and thanked everyone who took part plus the skydive instructors who had made it the experience of a lifetime.
“The views were exceptional as we had clear sky and it was so warm and sunny,” she said.
“This is the second ENF Haven Centre skydive – 2022 being the first with eight participants,” she said.
“This year attracted the full number for 10 places and due to its success, we are set to put it in the calendar for next year.”

The money raised from this year’s event will go towards the final finishings of the specialist equipment for the centre in Murray Road, Smithton.
