March 13-14. April: See a lantern festival
This spring, City Place will be home to Houston’s Magical Winter Lights, the largest lantern festival of its kind featuring living elements of flora and fauna. The display will be located close to City Place’s waterfront and will be illuminated every evening at dusk.
March 23: Listen to a choir
The Texas Lutheran University choir will perform a concert entitled “Peace, My Heart” with the TLU Choir, TLU Treble Choir and Kantorei Chamber Choir.
March 24-25: Buy plants
Attendees can peruse nearly 1,200 varieties of plants at the Mercer Botanic Garden’s annual March Mart plant sale. This in-person event will be limited to Friends of Mercer Botanic Gardens members on March 24 from 8-10 before opening to the public.

March 25: See StepCrew on stage
StepCrew will perform their new show of Ottawa Valley step dance, Irish step dance and tap as part of the Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment’s Star-Lit Series.
March 28: Support Northwest Assistance Ministries
To celebrate Northwest Assistance Ministries’ 40th anniversary, the NAM Endowment Fund Board of Directors will host a luncheon and conversation with Houston business owner and philanthropist Jim McIngvale, aka Gallery Furniture’s Mattress Mack.

April 1: Get Patriotic
The Texas Master Chorale’s spring concert, “For Love of Country,” will feature patriotic tunes including “America the Beautiful,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “God Bless the USA” and “Armed Forces Salute,” among others. Entry is free for active military, first responders and students with school ID.
April 11: Listen to classical music
Monarch Chamber Players will perform Sergei Prokofiev’s “Quintett in G Minor” for oboe, clarinet, violin, viola and double bass as part of Cypress Creek FACE’s Promenade Series.
April 13: Learn about the state of education
As part of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce’s Keynote Speaker Series, LaTonya Goffney, Jenny McGown and Lupita Hinojosa – the superintendents of Aldine, Klein and Spring ISDs, respectively – will speak at the annual State of Education luncheon.
