Roncalli and Manitowoc Lincoln High School Boys Golf Teams have advanced to the WIAA Sectional next week by virtue of a top-4 finish at their respective Regionals.
The Ships competed in the D-1 meet at Mequon where Sheboygan North captured the team title with a 290, ahead of Homestead, Port Washington and Lincoln which had a score of 331. Mason Schmidtke of the Golden Raiders earned medalist honors with a 2-under par 68. The Ships Landon Stanislawski carded a 76, while teammates Max Schneider and Drew Dombrowski each shot an 81. Their Sectional is May 31st at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course.
At the Division-3 Regional hosted by Bonduel: Roncalli finished 3rd with a score of 348, following team champion Lena and the host Bears. Mishicot wound up 4th to also qualify for the Sectional. The Jets Brayden Yanda tied for 4th with an 81, freshman Karson Kowalski of the Indians was in a 3-way tie for 6th at 83 and Roncalli’s John Oberbroeckling finished in a tie for 9th with an 84.
And in the Division-2 Regional at the Bull at Pinehurst Farms yesterday: Host Sheboygan Falls won the team championship with a 333, followed by Xavier, Kewaskum and Campbellsport. Brillion missed qualifying for Sectionals by one stroke and Kiel placed 7th as a team. The Falcons Andrew Kettle continued his outstanding spring with a 2 under 70 for meet medalist honors, while the Raiders’ Parker Dallman and the Lions’ Parker Braun made the individual qualifier list.
