Emmaus have been the surprise packets of the early rounds of the Dolphins Cup knocking off both grand finalists from last year’s inaugural competition, The Cathedral College and St Brendan’s College, Yeppoon.
Their mix of power up front, through starting props Baylee Meilland and Tawhirirangi, Taurima and silky skill out the back has been a recipe for success for the Rockhampton school.

But Shalom College will be confident they can cut their run of success short after showing strong signs in the opening round against St Brendan’s College.
Cavanagh was at the heart of the side’s efforts in the opening round, charging hard and tackling anything that stood in his way.
He will be key to their chances on Tuesday, along with strike centre Tom Morcom, who is hoped to make it back on the field after missing the opening round of the Schoolboys Cup season through injury.
Shalom rugby league co-ordinator Adam Booth said it was the humility that Cavanagh showed off the field which made him a stronger leader on it.
“This is his second year in the opens squad and he is very well respected by his peers,” Booth said.
“He leads more by his actions than his words. He has great values. He trains hard and works hard, and that shows in games.”
Cavanagh and Morcom were among seven Shalom College players who represented Wide Bay at the Schoolboys State Championships in Townsville last month.
