About the role
This position is one of a number of academic roles that work closely together and with their counterparts at the University of Newcastle (UON) in the Joint Medical Program (JMP). These roles provide effective and efficient academic support to the JMP, to ensure equity and consistency of program delivery and curriculum whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships between the partner institutions relating to the JMP.
This position works closely with academic and professional staff members and students, as well as liaising extensively with UNE and UON personnel, and staff from government and private health organisations and hospitals, to provide senior, high quality management and academic support to the JMP. - A significant contribution to the development and coordination of teaching and related activities within medicine and/or health fields;
- An established record of achievement in teaching with a positive trajectory or consistently strong teaching evaluations, positive student feedback, student performance and/or peer review;
- Course Coordination or equivalent health service leadership;
- Proactive development and design of curricula;
- Involvement in reflection, review and continuous improvement of curricula, teaching resources and teaching approaches;
- Application to teaching practice of new ideas in the discipline of medicine and/or health; and
- An active role within the discipline in mentoring and fostering the development of teaching skills and scholarship within teaching staff in the field of medicine and/or health
