The first group of “Sell Your Way to the USA” champions is back from a wild week in Nevada — ‘The Weirdest, Wildest West’!
Anthony Tuy from Flight Centre Wetherill Park, Elyse Palmer from TravelManagers Australia and Rachel Bryen from Helloworld Travel Kingaroy were among the lucky winning advisors of the Sell Your Way to the USA incentive. So let’s find out what they got up to.
Riding the Cowboy Corridor
After galloping through the skies on their trusty (and award-winning) American Airlines bronco, the winners touched down in Reno.
They explored Virginia City’s Ponderosa Saloon & Mine, then hiked with High Sierra Pack Goats in Carson City.
Next stop: Genoa, Nevada’s oldest settlement, and River Fork Ranch Preserve.
Revved up for a road trip on Nevada’s Cowboy Corridor, they visited Grimes Point Archaeological Area in Fallon before getting a taste of Frey Ranch Farmers + Distillers.
In Lovelock, they checked out the Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary before settling in Elko.
Elko offered California Trail Interpretive Center, Lamoille Canyon hike, and then lunch at O’Carroll’s saloon.
They continued to the Western Folklife Center, Cowboy Arts & Gear Museum, and snapped photos at Elko Tower.
Heading to West Wendover, they explored Metropolis Ghost Town and the Historic Wendover Airfield Museum.
Their adventure ended with dinner at The Nugget Steakhouse and an exhilarating slot tournament!
Winners enjoyed Basque feasts at historic dinner houses and iconic saloons like the Red Dog Saloon.
On the road again
Yennifer Diaz from the Nevada Division of Tourism said, “Nevada highways lead to destination you can only dream of, and our Sell Your Way winners were showcased one of our most unique.”
“Few road-trips brim with as much Western heritage as the Cowboy Corridor and our winners discovered lively communities packed with history, right-now attractions, museums, art galleries and even beers highlighting the confluence of buckaroo, Basque and First American traditions that have shaped the Silver State.”
