Willie Ann Muldowney, 68, of Llewellyn, Branch Township, formerly of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday, June 8, at Geisinger Medical Center.
Born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Willie L. Hook and the late Roseanna (nee Muller) Hook-Stokes. She was educated in South Carolina before coming to Pennsylvania. She had been employed in the Environmental Services Department of the former Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, now Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert J. Muldowney, in 2009; a granddaughter, Miah Alexander; three sisters, Alice Hook, Devern Vaughan and Bessie Mae “Patsy” Hook.
Willie is survived by her daughter, Chandra Muldowney (fiancé, William Rogers), Llewellyn; three sons, Darnell Alexander (spouse, Jillian), Upperco, MD, Willie Alexander, Pottsville, and Melvin Alexander (partner, Jessica Yorski), Schuylkill Haven; ten remaining grandchildren, Camden and Braelyn Rogers, Gavin and Avery Alexander, Tyler Ward, Willie and Lena Alexander, Cierra, Asia and Zamonie Alexander. She is also survived by two brothers, Bo Pete Hook, South Carolina and James “Bo” Stokes, Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Helen Staley, Staten Island, NY, and Maryanne Stokes, Long Island, NY; nieces and nephews.

Betty M. Schreffler, age 72, of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. She was born on Wednesday, September 27, 1950, in Valley View, PA, a daughter of Willard Clark and Merle Artz Clark.
Betty would be remembered most as a teacher at the Trinity Lutheran Church Pre-school, she also worked for the Pottsville Republican and Tobash Insurance. Her passion in life was working with crafts, traveling and being with family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, and was involved with and volunteered for various charities and organizations
She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Clark, mother, Merle Clark. She is survived by her husband Ronald Schreffler. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia Hornberger; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be made in Fountain Community Cemetery.

Linda D Geistwite, age 68, of Lykens Twp, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
She was born on Wednesday, June 1, 1955, in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Stanley Wiest and the late Martha (Hoffman) Wiest.
She was a seamstress for area garment factories and later in life was a bartender at the Erdman’s Sportsman’s Club .
Linda enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by a brother, Robert Wiest, and a sister, Elizabeth Deibert.
She is survived by her husband Randy A Geistwite, Sr, to whom she was married for 47 years.
She is also survived by three sons, William Wiest and his wife Marla of Hebe, Randy Geistwite, Jr and his partner Ismael of Philadelphia, and Tony A Geistwite and his partner Alex of Philadelphia; a grandson, Nicholas Wiest of Hebe; a granddaughter, Lauren Wiest of Hebe; a sister, Ellen Gery of Tuscon, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
As per Linda’s wishes there will be no services.
