In a shocking incident that unfolded on Friday, June 16, outside Tiger Tavern Daiquiris on Highway 44 in Gonzales, LA people witnessed a terrifying moment as a driver backed their truck into a crowd of individuals.
According to WAFB, the incident caused significant damage to the front of the bar, leaving witnesses in a state of shock.
According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Micca Dotson, a 32-year-old resident of Prairieville, has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Dotson now faces multiple charges including driving while intoxicated (DWI), hit and run, reckless operation, aggravated criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace, and vehicular negligent injuring.
Video footage capturing the incident has emerged, providing a very detailed view of the event from three different angles. The footage also offers a glimpse of the chaos and the shocking moment when the truck collided with the crowd outside the bar.
The front of the Tiger Tavern Daiquiris sustained noticeable damage, evident from the broken wood planks that were once part of the establishment’s entrance. Despite the unfortunate incident, one plank proclaims, “We are open,” emphasizing the bar’s determination to continue serving its patrons.
Authorities have launched an ongoing investigation into the incident, seeking to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
